I use this thing more than I thought I would.I'm buying a house, so I bring this along with me when checking foundation work. It can pick up radon if the concentrations are high enough.I'm an airplane mechanic. I use this at work whenever working around radiological equipment and I'm not sure if it's safe.Plus it's fun to whip out and scare friends with. Did I mention I have a warped sense of humor? :D

I have to have something for my bug out bag and home prep kit. Looks very quality build at a glance. All plastic but the metal wrist strap corner area. Can detect many different types of radiation. I have no ways to truly test this. A wrist strap you can add or leave as-is. Also comes with a 850mAh li-ion battery, black color usb-c charging cable and fixed rear belt clip. A spring loaded one would have been better. Will research online and see what at home products which may produce some form of radiation and revise this review. Instruction manual and the item itself in 4 languages: English, Chinese, German and Japanese.PEACE - LIVE - LIFE - LOVE - LAUGH - PRAY

I got this for casual/personal use. I don't see any calibration info about this unit, nor do I see a way to calibrate it. There are no claims of certification and no specs in the box, so if you need that, you may want to look at other devices.I did have an ionic smoke detector to check for alpha particles and it did pick them up. I don't have any other material to check with right now for more feedback.I like the weight of this device and the top has a piece of metal to guard against belt wear.I ding a star since for the price I would think it would come with a way to transfer the logs to a computer

I've found the ERICKHILL portable Geiger counter to be an incredibly reliable tool for measuring radiation. Its comprehensive detection capabilities for Gamma, Beta, and X-rays ensure precise data, which is crucial for environmental safety monitoring. This device has given me peace of mind, knowing I have accurate information on radiation levels around me.One of the standout features is the cumulative dose recording function. It tracks long-term radiation exposure and provides ten detailed historical datasets. This is particularly useful for analyzing and assessing safety over extended periods. The timed monitoring feature allows me to set it and forget it, as it automatically records data without needing to be held continuously. The advanced energy compensation algorithm is another impressive aspect. It ensures accurate measurements across various energy levels, making it versatile for different environments. Whether I'm using it in an industrial setting, a laboratory, or for medical applications, I can trust its accuracy. The two-mode alarm function is a great safety feature. It allows me to set adjustable alarm thresholds, so I'm immediately alerted if radiation levels exceed my preset limits. This prompt notification is essential for ensuring quick responses and maintaining safety.Portability and ease of use are top-notch. The sturdy back clip and Type-C charging design make it convenient to carry and charge. It's user-friendly and designed for quick deployment in any situation where reliable radiation detection is needed.I'm also really impressed with the full-color display on this little Geiger counter. The display is extremely high resolution, though the characters are quite small. This will be very interesting to wear when I go to the doctor or the dentist or other places where I'm exposed to radiation. Overall, the ERICKHILL Geiger counter has exceeded my expectations. It's a robust, accurate, and user-friendly device that offers comprehensive radiation measurement and long-term safety monitoring. If you need a reliable radiation detector, this one is highly recommended.
