I got this to serve as a back up to a much more expensive model and it gets the job done. It is not as sturdy as the much more expensive model and the probe wires are fragile. Overall though, it works well and records measurements very close to the expensive model. If you're on a budget this one will work well for you

This gauge is pretty amazing for the money, though I don't always get perfect and accurate measurements every time. It also doesn't work with all sizes, so use case is going to be heavily influenced by what you are working with. Quality wise it seems pretty solid, though maybe not as durable as some might expect at the price point. If it fails on me any time in the future I will make sure to keep this review updated.

There are so many applications for a non-penetrating thickness measuring device. If you need to measure the thickness of a coat of paint or epoxy, metals, glass, or plastic. A back plate with known characteristics is included in the package for easy measurements, but you can tune the Erickhill thickness gauge for other situations. I was able to use it to measure the thickness of a copper laminate on a glass epoxy substrate.I'm working out of the box with this device, but I was able to spot anomalies in a steel pipe indicating a weakness that wasn't otherwise visible.
